To our
surprise, there was no line outside the front entrance when we
arrived at the DNA Lounge on our first night in San Francisco.
Element SF Parties were notorious for bringing in the large
crowds, or at least so we heard down south in LA. It was
probably because we showed up to the club at half past
midnight, leave it to us always wanting a dramatic entrance. A
great Click2Asia friend,
VP of marketing Phil Yeh met us at the door with an
enthusiastic grin. After brief introductions, he led us
through the hallway and into club. Jammed packed from wall to
wall with Asian hipsters, we grabbed our jaws from the floor
and proceed to get our groove on. It was a typical night for
the Element party crew with party people illuminating the
atmosphere, beautiful women decorating the dance floor and
good times flowing like the alcohol through the
bar.
Titled as “The Bay Area’s Upscale Asian-American
party,” Element celebrates it’s 6th anniversary this year.
Upon our weekend visit to the San Francisco area, C2A had the
opportunity to attend two of Element's fantastic events:
Element SF & Drink Club at the DNA Lounge &
“2Degrees” at Shanghai 1930. With over 10 years of
experience in throwing Element parties, the group proves to
know what works and what doesn’t in the scene.
Through constant brainstorming sessions, Element
SF helps to provide new, fresh and creative ideas to entertain
it’s established groups of party-goers. From examples like
Element’s ‘Asian-American Idol’ who’s previous winner will
have a song piece in an produced upcoming album, and it’s
“2Degrees” party. “Our upscale and more intimate affair
“2Degrees,” is where the concept that everybody at the event
will be within two degrees of separation from everybody else,
thus setting a friendlier and more pleasant atmosphere for
mingling. An event that takes places at the fabulous Shanghai
1930, fine dining by evening and posh party venue by night,”
stated Phil Yeh of Element SF.
In distinguishing itself as
one of the more established Asian American groups in the Bay
Area, Element SF targets parties in catering to the 23 and older,
Asian working professional/graduate student crowd. This simple
fact alone, enables Element to create a comfortable, relaxing
atmosphere to those in need of a great time. “We like to
provide a balance between dancing to great music and sharing
scintillating conversation, whether with a romantic potential
or somebody to network with. Our targeted marketing and strict
dress code policy ensures that the people at the party are
those who other at that the party would feel comfortable
around.” But be aware, Element events are usually sell-out
functions, where the size of the crowd quickly reaches the
limits for the venue’s capacity. So if you’re planning a night
out with Element, be sure to arrive early.
As visitors from Los Angeles, we enjoyed the
variety of atmospheres that Element provided. Because of the
intimate feel of their events, we felt as if it was extremely
easy to meet people of the opposite sex. With a friendly and
fun environment we were able to meet many of the regular
Element partygoers. To say this crowd was entertaining would
be an understatement as we found ourselves wishing that the
night would carry onto the next. From it’s conclusion, it
leaves us looking forward to our next visit to the Bay Area
where we can once again chill in the fun times with the
Element San Francisco group.
